in-home Pet Sitting reduces anxiety & stress

Dogs and cats are most at ease when in the comfort of their own home.  When placed in unfamiliar surroundings, like a kennel, boarding facility, or even someone else’s home, your dog or cat may experience anxiety.

For this reason, we bring our Pet Sitting service to your pet!  This way, your dog and/or cat remains at home and we conduct a series of ‘in-home’ visits, according to a Pet Care Schedule that we design together.

Our goal when crafting your Pet Care Schedule is to mirror the daily routine you have with your pet.  So, our schedule will outline visit arrival times, feeding details, relief routines and any sleeping ritual.  The closer we get to your routine, the more comfortable your pet will be.

Why choose The Tail Trail’s Pet Sitting Service?

In-Your-Home

Our ‘In-home’ approach allows us to design a Pet Sitting package that parallels the routine you have with your pet, which will reduce anxiety.  It also eliminates the threat of contracting a contagious illness, such as kennel cough, if you were to board your pet elsewhere.

Customizable

Having the ability to select the number of daily visits, arrival times, and duration of each visit enables you to create a sitting schedule that is tailor-made for your dog or cat.

Pet Spa Day

Combine our Pet Sitting and Grooming services and your pet will enjoy an afternoon of pampering - while you’re away. *

Insured and Bonded

All of our staff members are bonded, insured, and background checked.

* Grooming Services are provided through our pet boutique in Oradell, Fur the Love of Pets.

How to best utilize our pet sitting service

We usually visit the dogs in our care 3 times a day; a 4th visit is often added when caring for a younger and/or high energy dog.  For cats, we usually visit either once or twice a day to feed and maintain the litter box.

The frequency and arrival times of the visits depend on your routine.

An example of a Pet Care Schedule is below:

8am:     Visit to walk and feed
12pm:   Visit to walk (optional, though recommended for younger or high energy breeds)
4pm:     Visit to walk and feed
8pm:     Relief visit before bed

Having the ability to select the visit frequency, arrival times, and duration enables you to create a tailor-made sitting schedule for your pet(s).  And, as we've said, the closer the Pet Care Schedule is to your daily routine, the less anxious your dog or cat will be.
